Personal Memo from Vinh

Hey {You reading this},

Okay, let me start by saying… this was embarrassing 😅

Last night, I was helping my son with his homework. My job? To write a few simple sentences using his “words of the week” so he could copy them. Easy, right?

Well… take a look at what I wrote below. Can you spot the glaring error? 🙈

Yes. You read that correctly.

“QUIENT.”

Not quiet. Not quite. Just… quient. 🤦‍♂️

The best part? My wife immediately snapped a photo and sent it to our family group chat. And then came the final blow…

My son - sweet little Xander - actually spelled it correctly himself! 😂

“Quiet.” Boom. Seven years old and already outshining his dad.

Why am I telling you this?

Because people often look at my videos, my social media following, and assume I’ve got it all together - like I’m some flawless, high-functioning adult who never messes up.

Meanwhile… here I am inventing new words like quient.

Let this be your reminder:

If I can build a business, speak on stages, and post videos confidently… you can too.
(And let’s be real - you’ll probably spell better while doing it.)

And the lesson...💡

Don’t confuse someone’s polished moments with perfection. We’re all just making it up as we go - and the occasional typo doesn’t make you less capable… It makes you human.

So next time you feel like you’re not smart enough, ready enough, or capable enough -remember: you’ve probably already surpassed quient-level confidence.

Thank you so much for this message Beatrice, I love that we have students all the way in France!

I am so proud of you for breaking out of the mold, it’s so easy to think “Oh, I am an engineer - I don’t need to improve my communication skills”. I love that you are challenging that mindset and creating your own path.

Beatrice, I often tell my students: it’s those of you who have incredible technical skill that will change the world. Once you learn and master the art of communication… YOU are the ones that will create the most impact.

What I'm Watching

This video is called Everybody's Free To Wear Sunscreen. It’s lyrics from a famous essay that was written in 1997 by Mary Schmich who wrote about incredible life advice. You will love it!

My Favourite Quote

“If you don't like where you are...Move. You are not a tree.”

– Jim Rohn

The wisdom in this one is deep.
